GREETINGS FROM THE PRESIDENT

Greetings,
Welcome to a new year and new beginnings. Each of us is fortunate enough to be able to continue the work for the advancement of Martin County Retired School Personnel. As we are a seasoned group in many ways, we are going to move forward by utilizing our gifts and expertise to make a difference in the community.
Our main focus continues to be recruitment of new members. We garnered two new members last year and this year we are hoping to more than double that number. Please keep “recruiting members” on your mind at all times. With more active members, we will be able to disperse projects and various community activities among a greater number which will yield more prolific results. So please make every effort to bring in new members.
Thank you for all you do for the good of MCRSP. Your hard work and total commitment does not go unnoticed. This is a group venture and we must continue to help each other to get the job done. Please try to attend all regular meetings which are held the Wednesday after the second Sunday in September, December, February, and May and the Fall Conference in October and Spring Meeting in April.
Together, we need to continue our journey and utilize every effort in making our vision a reality. While we willingly share our expertise and genuine efforts to assist our community, do not lose sight. As we move forward, I challenge each of you to help increase our membership by inviting at least one retiree to join our prestigious organization. Let us continue to give back by investing our time in the future of our children as they pursue their dreams with a sincere desire to help them make every dream a reality.

The counselors on the toll-free line offer free and unbiased information regarding Medicare health care products. They also help people recognize and prevent Medicare billing errors and possible fraud and abuse through their NC SMP Program. Since the program's creation in 1986, SHIIP has become a role model for other states and has received two national awards for "innovative" and "exemplary" service.
